From “Easily Sick” To Full Of Energy Overnight

Today I’m going to indulge in a little bit of “me time” and tell a story about when I first discovered the power of good nutrition. Now, it’s pretty obvious to most people that increasing their nutrition intake and generally eating more healthily is going to make them feel better.

I get that. I’m not trying to say “I made a genius discovery”. However, I think a lot of people really underestimate these effects.

Before I started to change my diet and go down the path that I went down, I just ate normal food, aoivded too much fast food, and took “the healthy option” whenever I fancied it. I was young, I had my health already, no worries.

It bothered me that I would catch a cold two or three times a year, get fevers when the seasons changed, and that I generally had low energy. However, I didn’t really think it was particularly abnormal. I just thought “This is life, you get sick sometimes, and you work is tiring”.

How wrong was I?

That was back in 2008. Since then I’ve gone from going to the doctor’s at least twice a year and NEVER having any energy, to my current situation where I haven’t visited the doctor for at least a year (and even then it was for something unrelated) and always have plenty of energy.

If you are like I was, you might be thinking “Wow..tell me more!”. Incidentally, if you are already healthy and have no energy or health issues, the following is all probably pretty obvious to you, so you can skip out now and let me continue feeling like I made an awesome discovery.

All I Did Was Change My Breakfast

I started to look at ways of improving my breakfast and nutrition. If you’ve ever tried this yourself, it can sometimes be confusing. Yes, you know you could probably get away with just eating more fruit and less chocolate/muffins/bagels, but sometimes that doesn’t seem enough (It isn’t really).

I started taking nutrition supplements that were protein based and had all the nutrients my body needed. Basically I followed this method. Right from day one my energy level exploded.

I was sitting on the bus on a Monday morning going to work in a happy mood. On a Monday!

Of course, I was expecting my health and energy to improve over time and thinking it would be a subtle difference that I didn’t really notice at first, so I was really surprised when my energy levels changed literally overnight.

It really goes to show that making a few simple adjustments to your lifestyle will go a looong way, and you shouldn’t hesitate about making the same changes if you want to follow suit.
